Voting by Mail

Any voter in Florida can register to vote by mail. (Different states use different names, and some call this "voting absentee.") Even if you register to vote by mail, you are still able to vote in person. It simply gives you another option. You can fill out your ballot at home and return it in the mail or at any Early Voting location—see the map to find the nearest one. If you still choose to go to your polling place, you should bring your mail ballot with you as it will be cancelled, and you'll receive a new ballot.

When returning your mail ballot, be sure to carefully follow the instructions on the county clerk's site. Your ballot must arrive at the Department of Elections by 7pm on Election Day.

Learn more about voting by mail on the Florida Secretary of State’s webpage. Then make sure you are registered to receive your mail ballot.
